WIBA Sub Committee Proposals
The sub committee appointed by the WIBA to examine ways to improve Welsh Bowls has submitted the following suggestions
1. Championship to be reduced to 4 rinks ( clubs would potentially lose a third of match day income )
2. Championship to be reduced to 4 rinks but in order to reduce the financial impact the two outside rinks to play in a second “Championship”..?? Can players switch between the two options??
3. Make the Championship 5 rinks
4. Championship to remain at 6 rinks
Your delegates to the WIBA have strongly urged to continue with the 6 rink Championship option.
Reasons given for the change are basically to improve the strength of the Welsh International side.
In response we recommend that players once selected for Wales play for their Clubs in their selected position
We would be pleased to receive the views of those players involved in the Championship and wishing to play for Wales as well as any other relevant comment.
Patrick J. Hussey – Club Delegate
Howard B. Davies – Club Delegate
Responses can be made by E-Mail to the Club where they will be collated and referred to us for consideration.
SUMMER INDOOR SESSIONS
With COVID restrictions gradually easing we are now able to open the Stadium for Indoor Bowling sessions during the Summer for those who wish to partake.
Obviously, the sessions will be reviewed dependant on take-up. Although not entirely necessary, it would be beneficial if those who want to play could register their interest so approximate numbers can be gauged.
The sessions will start on Monday 17th May and be as follows which is subject to change:
11.00 am – 1.00 pm
2.00 pm – 4 pm
4 pm – 6 pm.
